Our Goal

The Association of Latin American Law Students (“ALALS”) is proud to celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of our annual scholarship fundraising gala, Fiesta Con Sabor. ALALS is traditionally one of the most active and recognized student organizations at Rutgers Law School and hosts Fiesta Con Sabor to celebrate our community’s unwavering commitment to Hispanic law students and their success. Every year ALALS strives to: (1) promote Hispanic culture, heritage, unity, awareness on campus and in the community; and (2) encourage the study of law among Latin Americans, minorities, and traditionally underrepresented groups, by initiating programs, workshops, and networking panels.

Fiesta Con Sabor raises funds for the ALALS Scholarship, which is awarded annually to Hispanic law students who demonstrate strong academic merit and financial need. The ALALS Scholarship was established in 2010 and through generous contributions has come within reach of achieving permanent endowment. With a permanent endowment, we would be able to ensure the continued success of the scholarship program. Your contributions are essential to achieving and helping us reach our fundraising goal of $15,250.00.

We hope you and your office will consider supporting this year’s scholarship and continue to demonstrate a commitment to increasing diversity in the legal profession. Please consider featuring an ad in our Fiesta program, reserving a table, purchasing tickets, sponsoring the event and/ or donating an amount of your choice. All donations are tax deductible as our foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization.

If you have any questions, please email us at alals.rutgers@gmail.com or call either Juan Estrada at 512-564-0802 or Christian Villatoro at 201-289-1893. We hope you join us as we celebrate such a monumental milestone.
